Program for Islamic Religious Education (IRU)

Following an internal review, it has been decided that the Continuing Education Program for Supporting Islamic Religious Education will be introduced in a new format. The previous three-year program, which had a rather limited scope, has been revised and expanded.

From now on, the training sessions will be open to teachers and teacher candidates. In addition, a monthly online event with experts in Islamic religious education in Germany is planned.

The first event in this new format will take place on 14 December 2025 at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Cemil Şahinöz, who will speak on “Islam in the Mirror of Modernity.”

A larger conference with students is also planned for the end of 2026.

This restructuring aims to offer broader access and participation in the upcoming activities.
